It was really hot today, which made it a bit difficult for me. I also had a headwind all day. Nevertheless, it was a great day.

At Wesel, the route leaves the Rhine, which I have been following for so long. And finally away from the Rhine-Ruhr moloch. Until Haltern am See, however, the route remains moderately beautiful. The cycle path constantly runs alongside busy roads.

From Haltern onwards, however, this finally changes and the route leads through beautiful countryside and cultural landscapes. It is also nice to cycle along the Wesel-Datteln Canal.

Today I camp at Peters Gasthaus, directly on the Dortmund-Ems Canal.
